There has been a tremendous increase in the need for environmental protection as the demand for energy has been increasing considerably. The environmental goods and services industry is expected to expand by 45 per cent by the end of this year at by that time this market could reach 800 billion. The Indian Government is now forcing traditional energy sector to adjust in order to respect the environmental issues and international agreements are now encouraging worldwide cooperation to reduce pollution. New electricity generation is likely to rise by nearly 58% to almost 26 trillion KWh in 2020 and 35 trillion KWh 15 years later. It has been estimated that currently the global electricity market is worth about 2,695 billion. Today specific energy sources are enforced to change their methods to reduce the unpleasant side effects of climate change. The coal industry produces about 30% of the world’s electricity and it is accountable for the release of 10 billion tons every year and is adapting to environmental concerns through the development of clean coal technologies. The coal industry itself represents about 30% of carbon dioxide produced in the generation and consumption of energy. This industry has already reduced its carbon dioxide by 40% between the last century and today. This global coal market has seen as much as 95% of growth till date and is worth about 920 billion.

Today the Indian government has turned towards renewable energy in order to meet the growing energy demand in the country as well as limiting adverse climate change. The consumption of renewable energy is estimated to grow at 3% through 2035. This market is growing at a rate of 8.5% every year and is currently worth about 480 billion. The oil and gas industry too is growing at a rate of 7% and is worth about 3,700 billion.
